Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until light.
- Add egg yolk; mix well.
- Add flour and salt; mix.
- Roll dough into small balls and dip in unbeaten egg white.
- Roll in finely chopped nuts.
- Place on a buttered baking sheet and press down the center of each with a thimble.
- Bake in a 325°F oven for 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven and press down again with the thimble.
- Return to oven and bake for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and fill the hot indents with preserves.
