Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. bean thread (1.8 oz.)
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 small carrots
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 lb. ground lean meat (beef, pork, chicken, or combination)
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. m.s.g. (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse bean thread in water and soften in hot water for 10 minutes.
  2. Drain and cut the bean thread stack into about 1-inch lengths.
  3. Dice or process onion and carrots to medium grain size.
  4. Combine the bean thread, onion, carrots, egg, seasonings, and ground meat in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Mix thoroughly with hands or chopsticks until well blended.
  6. Use as desired for wrapping or frying the spring rolls.
