Ingredients

  • 1 box cornbread mix (14 to 16 oz.)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 (15 oz.) can creamed corn
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 pint sour cream

Instructions

  1. Mix the cornbread mix, egg, milk, and creamed corn until smooth.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  3. Carefully spread sour cream over the top, adding 1 tablespoon of milk to help spread it easier.
  4. Sprinkle chopped onions over the sour cream, then top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 minutes.
  6. Allow to cool for 20 minutes or more before serving.
  7. Optional: Freeze for later use.
