Ingredients

  • 1 lb. powdered sugar
  • 1 lb. (4 sticks) butter
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 oz. rum flavoring
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Have the powdered sugar and butter at room temperature and cream with a mixer.
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat well after adding each egg.
  3. Add the rum flavoring to the creamed mixture.
  4. Add the sifted flour and baking powder to the mixture using a large spoon, starting with 3 cups of flour.
  5. Gradually add the remaining flour if needed, depending on weather and humidity, until the batter reaches the right consistency.
