Pot Stickers(Gyozas)
Pot Stickers, also known as Gyozas, are delicious Chinese dumplings with a crispy bottom and tender filling. Filled with seasoned chicken, pork, or shrimp, they offer a savory, umami flavor profile. Perfect as an appetizer or main dish for gatherings or casual dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 small whole chicken breasts, boned and skinned ⓘ
- 3/4 lb. ground pork ⓘ
- 1/2 c. chopped shrimp ⓘ
- 1/4 c. sesame seed oil
- 1 c. finely chopped celery ⓘ
- 1/2 c. chopped green onion ⓘ
- 3 Tbsp. dry sherry ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch ⓘ
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1 pkg. pot sticker wrappers (gyoza) or wonton wrappers ⓘ
Instructions
- Rinse the chicken, then chop finely or use ground pork.
- Place the meat in a bowl and stir in sesame oil, chopped celery, chopped green onion, dry sherry, cornstarch, sugar, and salt.
- Set out 6 to 8 wrappers at a time. Place 2 teaspoons of filling on each wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of each wrapper with a little water to seal.
- Fold the wrapper in half over the filling to form a half-moon shape.
- Pinch the edges together to seal the dumpling.
- Set the pot stickers down firmly, seam side up, so they sit flat.
