Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes
  • 5 tablespoons whiskey or brandy
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Add sugar, butter, and egg yolks to hot mashed potatoes and mix well.
  2. Stir in milk, vanilla, whiskey or brandy, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  5. Cut into desired shapes using a cookie cutter or knife.
  6. Fry in hot fat until golden brown and cooked through.
