Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 6 Tbsp. cold water
  • 1 Tbsp. melted shortening
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Beat the egg lightly.
  2. Add the cold water, melted shortening, salt, and baking powder to the egg.
  3. Stir until smooth.
  4. Drop by spoonfuls into boiling broth.
  5. Cook for 10 minutes.
  6. These dumplings can be cooked without turning them.
  7. They can be reheated and are light as a feather.
