Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick oleo (butter)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can pumpkin
  • 2 cans milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Pumpkin spices (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 cup water and 1 stick of oleo (butter).
  2. Add 1 cup flour to the boiling mixture and cook until a dough forms.
  3. Beat 4 eggs one at a time into the flour mixture until smooth.
  4. Spread the batter in an oblong pan to form the base.
  5. Mix together the can of pumpkin, 2 cans of milk, 2 eggs, brown sugar, and pumpkin spices to make the filling.
  6. Pour the pumpkin mixture over the spread dough in the pan.
  7. Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.
  8. Reduce oven temperature to 375°F and bake for an additional 45 minutes.
  9. Check with a knife; if it comes out clean, the pie is done.
  10. The pie will have a nice brown crust on top.
