Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted fat
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs thoroughly.
  2. Add the sugar and milk to the beaten eggs and mix well.
  3. Sift together the dry ingredients: flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and beat thoroughly.
  5. Stir in the melted fat.
  6. Add enough flour to make the batter stiff enough to hold a spoon upright.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of batter into deep hot fat at 375°F.
  8. Fry until the donuts are golden brown, then remove and drain on absorbent paper.
