Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground pork
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. savory

Instructions

  1. Mix the ground pork, chopped onion, salt, pepper, and savory in a saucepan.
  2. Add boiling water to the mixture and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Skim off any fat from the surface.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Roll out half of the pastry and line a 9-inch pie plate with it.
  6. Place the cooked filling into the pastry-lined pie plate.
  7. Cover with the remaining pastry and prick the top with a fork.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes or until the crust is golden.
  9. Serve hot, optionally topped with homemade ketchup or chili sauce.
