Quick And Easy Date-Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. hot water
  • 1/2 pkg. chopped dates
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. melted margarine
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Measure out 3/4 cup hot water; add chopped dates.
  2. Set aside. Combine all other ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Add hot water and dates, mixing well.
  4. Pour into loaf pan.
  5. Cook at 350° about 45 minutes.
  6. Slice while warm and serve with cream cheese.
