Ingredients

  • 5 cups sifted self-rising flour
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 (12 oz.) can beer
  • melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sifted self-rising flour and sugar.
  3. Add sour cream and beer alternately; mix well.
  4. Pour batter into a greased 2-quart baking dish.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Brush the top with melted butter.
  7. Bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
