Ingredients

  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 4 c. vinegar
  • 4 qt. cucumbers

Instructions

  1. Bring the sugar, turmeric powder, celery seed, mustard seed, and vinegar to a boil.
  2. Slice fresh unpeeled cucumbers thinly.
  3. Pack the sliced cucumbers into jars, adding onions if desired.
  4. Pour the boiling syrup over the packed jars.
  5. Immediately place the jars into boiling water and process for 5 minutes.
