A hearty overnight breakfast casserole combining bread, pork sausage, and cheese, baked to perfection. Ideal for weekend brunch or family gatherings, offering comforting flavors.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread
  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Tear the bread into pieces and place in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Brown and drain well the pork sausage.
  3. Spoon the cooked sausage evenly over the bread pieces.
  4. Sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese over the sausage.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  6. In the morning, beat the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and dry mustard together.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, sausage, and cheese.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes or until golden and set.
