Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 (6 oz.) Gladiola buttermilk biscuit mix
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease an 8 x 4 x 2-inch loaf pan.
  3. Beat eggs in a large bowl. Stir in water.
  4. Add biscuit mix and beat until combined.
  5. Add mustard and 1 cup of grated cheese, then mix thoroughly.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and dot with butter.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove from pan and cool on a rack before slicing.
  11. Serve sliced, buttered, and toasted, or use for croutons. Can be frozen for later.
