Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup raw peanuts
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 (6 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 9-inch square pan.
  2. Sprinkle raw peanuts into the prepared pan and set aside.
  3. Combine brown sugar and butter in a medium saucepan.
  4. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 270°F on a candy thermometer.
  5. Immediately pour the caramel mixture over the peanuts in the pan.
  6. Sprinkle semi-sweet chocolate morsels over the hot caramel layer.
  7. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and let sit for 2 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top.
  9. Chill the brittle until it is firm.
  10. Remove from the pan and break into pieces to serve.
