Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (no pudding mix)
  • 5 to 6 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm water.
  2. Add the yellow cake mix and blend well.
  3. Work in the flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a circle on a floured surface.
  6. Sprinkle with cinnamon, melted butter, sugar, or chopped nuts as desired.
  7. Roll up the circle of dough, pinching the ends together.
  8. Cut into 1-inch slices with a knife and place in a greased baking pan.
  9. Brush the top of the rolls with melted butter.
  10. Let the rolls rise until doubled in size.
  11. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 8 to 10 minutes until golden.
  12. Ice with powdered sugar icing made by thinning powdered sugar with milk and vanilla.
