Ingredients

  • 2 qt. popped corn
  • 1 c. Karo syrup
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Place popcorn in a large, buttered bowl.
  2. In a heavy 2-quart saucepan, stir together Karo syrup, water, brown sugar, and vinegar.
  3. Stir constantly over medium heat until the mixture boils.
  4. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the temperature on a candy thermometer reaches 260°F or until a small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a ball.
  5. Remove from heat; stir in margarine.
  6. Slowly pour the mixture over the popcorn.
  7. Make balls from the coated popcorn.
