Quick Hash Brown Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. frozen hash brown potatoes
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 stick margarine, melted
  • 2 to 3 c. corn flakes, crushed
  • 1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
  • 1 (12 oz.) carton sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 10 to 12 oz. grated Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Stir all ingredients together, except for corn flakes and 1/2 stick margarine.
  2. Pour into casserole dish.
  3. Top with corn flakes which have been mixed with 1/2 stick melted margarine.
  4. Bake at 350° for 60 minutes.
  5. This freezes well, but don't put topping on to freeze.
