Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Pillsbury quick bread mix (banana, date, etc.)
  • 16 oz. can fruit cocktail (undrained)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (350°F if using a glass pan).
  2. Grease and flour an 8-inch or 9-inch square pan.
  3. Combine the quick bread mix, undrained fruit cocktail, and egg; stir 60 to 75 strokes until well mixed.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix chopped nuts, chocolate chips, and brown sugar; sprinkle this mixture over the batter.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Serve warm or cooled.
