A hearty, comforting casserole featuring seasoned ground beef, potatoes, rutabaga, and a flaky crescent roll crust, perfect for family dinners or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 3 medium potatoes, chipped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 rutabaga, chopped
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Place chipped potatoes into a lightly greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Crumble ground beef over potatoes.
  2. Add chopped onions and rutabaga on top of the ground beef layer.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, then slice margarine over all.
  4. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 1 hour.
  5. Remove from oven and drain off excess grease.
  6. Mix cream of mushroom soup with water and pour evenly over the casserole surface.
  7. Cover again with foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven, uncover, and unroll crescent rolls to make a flat crust on top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
