Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. butterscotch pudding and pie mix
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 c. pecan pieces

Instructions

  1. Mix pudding mix, brown sugar, sugar, milk, and butter or oleo in a pot.
  2. Cook and stir over low heat until sugar dissolves and mixture boils.
  3. Cook gently, stirring frequently, until a small amount tested in cold water forms a soft ball (234° on candy thermometer).
  4. Add pecan pieces and mix well.
  5. Remove from heat and beat until mixture begins to thicken.
  6. Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper and let stand until firm.
