Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, butter, and raisins. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Blend in flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and nutmeg.
  4. Pour the batter into a lightly greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
  6. Allow to cool before frosting or serving.
