- Mix warm water, 2 tablespoons sugar, and dry yeast in a large bowl.
- Add enough flour to make a batter.
- Cover and let rise until light, about 30 minutes.
- Scald milk.
- Add 2 tablespoons sugar, salt, margarine, and eggs to the milk.
- Cool the mixture to lukewarm.
- Add the cooled milk mixture to the yeast mixture.
- Add flour gradually to make a stiff dough.
- Knead the dough well.
- Place in a covered bowl and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Shape the dough into rolls or a loaf.
- Let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake rolls at 400°F for 20 minutes.
- Bake loaves at 350°F for 30 minutes.
