Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted
  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease and flour a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  3. Mix together the dry ingredients: flour, ginger, salt, and baking soda.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together milk, melted butter, honey, egg, and ginger.
  5. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Add the milk mixture all at once.
  6. Toss with a fork until just combined; do not overmix.
  7. Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake until golden brown and tests done, about 55 to 60 minutes.
  9. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
  10. Run a metal spatula around the side of the pan to loosen the loaf.
  11. Turn the loaf out onto the wire rack to cool completely.
