Ingredients

  • 1 frozen white bread dough, defrosted
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine, softened
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. raisins

Instructions

  1. Roll the bread dough into a 15 x 9-inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  2. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisins to prepare the filling.
  3. Spread softened margarine evenly over the dough.
  4. Sprinkle the filling mixture evenly across the margarine-covered dough.
  5. Roll up the dough tightly starting from the 15-inch side.
  6. Pinch the edge of the dough to seal the roll well and stretch it to make it even.
  7. Shape the sealed roll into a ring on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  8. Pinch the ends of the roll together to form a complete ring.
  9. Using scissors, cut 2/3 of the way through the ring at 1-inch intervals.
  10. Turn each section of the cut ring on its side.
  11. Let the dough rise until doubled in size, about 40 minutes.
  12. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the ring until golden brown, about 25 to 30 minutes.
  13. If the ring browns too quickly, cover loosely with aluminum foil during baking.
  14. Spread the warm ring with the glaze while still hot.
