Tips & Substitutions

To enhance the flavor, try using fresh citrus juices instead of bottled lemon juice. For a twist, you can substitute the honey with maple syrup for a vegan option. If you have fresh mint, a sprinkle on top can add a refreshing note. Ensure all fruits are ripe for the best taste. This compote can also pair beautifully with Jello Waldorf Salad.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this vibrant Rainbow Compote as a light dessert or breakfast topping. It pairs wonderfully with yogurt or oatmeal. For a refreshing twist, consider serving it alongside Hot Doggies at a summer barbecue or as a colorful side to grilled meats. Garnish with fresh mint for added flair.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The flavors will continue to meld, making it even more delicious the next day. To enjoy it chilled, serve directly from the fridge. Avoid freezing, as the texture of the fruits may change upon thawing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use other fruits in the compote?

Absolutely! Feel free to substitute or add fruits like raspberries, pineapple, or kiwi based on your preference. Just ensure the fruits are in season for the best flavor. The dressing will complement a variety of fruits, making it versatile for different tastes.

How long should I refrigerate the oranges with the dressing?
