- Dissolve one package of gelatin in 1 cup boiling water.
- Pour 2/3 cup of the gelatin into a mold or 8x8-inch pan; refrigerate and let set.
- Add 2 tablespoons sour cream to the remaining 1/3 cup hot dissolved gelatin and beat.
- Pour and spread the sour cream mixture over the first layer.
- Repeat the procedure with the remaining four packages of gelatin, allowing each layer to set before adding the next.
- It will take about 1 hour for the first layer to set, and subsequent layers will set quickly.
