Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 4 cups cold water

Instructions

  1. Cook the sugar, cornstarch, and cold water over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
  2. Divide the mixture into three containers and add different food coloring to each.
  3. Pour small amounts of the rainbow stew into several Ziploc bags and reinforce the closures with packing tape.
  4. Let children write on the bags with their fingers, exploring colors and mixing to create new shades.
  5. Refrigerate to extend shelf life if desired.
