Ingredients

  • 6 lb beef roast
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Rub the beef roast with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the roast into a pan, fat side up. Do not cover or add water.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  4. Cook the meat for 1 hour, then turn off the heat and leave it in the oven.
  5. Do not open the oven door at any time during cooking.
  6. Thirty or forty minutes before serving, turn the oven back to 375°F and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. You can put the roast in the oven any time between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for an evening meal.
  8. Slice leftovers if any remain, ideal for sandwiches.
  9. Tape the oven door if necessary to prevent it from opening.
