Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. bacon drippings
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/4 c. green bell pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 c. celery
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. granulated sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 (16 oz.) can whole kernel corn
  • 1 (32 oz.) can Ranch Style beans
  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 3 c. water

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in bacon drippings, separating meat with a fork as it cooks.
  2. Add chopped onions, green bell pepper, garlic, and celery; cook until vegetables are soft.
  3. Add chili powder, sugar, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  4. Add canned tomatoes with their liquid, breaking them up with a knife or the back of a spoon.
  5. Add canned corn, ranch style beans, cubed potatoes, and water.
  6. Bring to a boil, stirring well.
  7. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  8. Stir occasionally during cooking.
