Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake mix
  • 1 box whipping cream
  • 1 jar strawberry preserves
  • 1 recipe chocolate icing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box.
  2. Bake the cake in 9-inch pans and allow to cool completely.
  3. Cut each cake layer in half horizontally using a string technique.
  4. Layer the cake with the following: one layer of cake, a layer of strawberry preserves, a layer of whipped cream, another layer of cake, a layer of chocolate icing, another layer of cake, a layer of strawberry preserves, a layer of whipped cream, and finally the last layer of cake.
  5. Cover the entire cake with chocolate icing.
