Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups very warm milk
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 6 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 sticks oleo or butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups of flour, yeast, salt, and sugar in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add warm milk and softened butter; beat for 2 minutes on low speed with a mixer.
  3. Add beaten egg and 1 cup of flour; beat on medium speed for 1 minute until well mixed.
  4. Stir in the remaining flour gradually using a wooden spoon.
  5. Mix well, then place the dough in the refrigerator overnight.
