Ingredients

  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 6 c. plain flour, unsifted

Instructions

  1. Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar, and salt.
  2. Blend and cool the mixture.
  3. Add beaten eggs to the cooled mixture.
  4. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to the mixture.
  5. Add flour and blend well.
  6. Cover the dough and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  7. About 3 hours before using, roll out the dough and cut into shapes.
  8. Brush the rolls with melted butter.
  9. Place on a greased pan and allow to rise for 3 hours.
  10. Bake at 425°F for 12 to 14 minutes.
