Surprise Cakes are delightful chocolate cupcakes filled with creamy whipping cream, offering a sweet surprise in every bite. Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. sour milk
  • 3 sq. chocolate
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pt. whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour and sugar several times.
  2. Then mix the rest of the ingredients together with the flour.
  3. Beat until smooth.
  4. Using cupcake wrappers, fill cupcake pans 3/4 full.
  5. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
  6. Cut a hole in the top of each cupcake.
  7. Clean the centers out.
  8. Fill with whipping cream and replace the cover.
  9. Frost with chocolate frosting.
