Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm milk, scalded then cooled
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 7 to 7 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup softened margarine

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl.
  2. Stir in milk, sugar, salt, eggs, margarine, and 3 1/2 cups of flour.
  3. Beat until smooth.
  4. Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
  5. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  6. Place in a greased bowl and turn greased side up.
  7. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
