Roasted Pepper Spread

A smoky, creamy roasted pepper spread with sweet and spicy flavors, perfect for dipping, spreading, or adding vibrant color to sandwiches and appetizers. Suitable for all gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet red, yellow, or green peppers
  • 1 jalapeno pepper
  • 1 small onion, unpeeled
  • 1 clove garlic, unpeeled
  • 1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Place sweet peppers and jalapeno pepper on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet.
  2. Bake at 500°F for 5 to 10 minutes or until skins look blistered, turning once.
  3. Add onion and garlic and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. Set onion and garlic aside.
  5. Place peppers immediately into a heavy-duty, Ziploc plastic bag.
  6. Seal and let stand for 10 minutes to loosen skins.
  7. Peel peppers and remove and discard seeds.
  8. Peel onion and garlic; cut onion into quarters.
  9. Place onion, garlic, and peppers into the container of an electric blender.
  10. Process until smooth, scraping down sides once.
