Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 5 ounces butter
  • 7 eggs
  • 5 ounces powdered sugar
  • 5 ounces walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, and baking powder.
  3. Add butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Separate the eggs, and beat the egg yolks into the mixture.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
  7. Add the powdered sugar and ground walnuts, folding gently until well combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
