Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons safflower oil
  • 2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, place the flour.
  2. Add safflower oil to the flour.
  3. Stir with a fork until thoroughly mixed.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of cold water.
  5. Stir until the dough holds together, adding more water if needed.
  6. Press the dough firmly into a ball.
  7. Use the pastry for 6 turnovers or a 9-inch pie shell.
