- Dissolve the apple flavored gelatin and a dash of salt in 2 cups hot water; cool to room temperature and add lemon juice.
- Carefully pour the chilled lemon-lime carbonated beverage down the side of the bowl; stir gently with an up and down motion. Chill until partially set.
- Meanwhile, core the tart red apples and slice them very thinly.
- Add the sliced apples and seedless green grapes to the gelatin mixture, stirring gently with an up and down motion.
- Pour the mixture into a 2-quart ring mold.
- Chill until the gelatin is firm.
- Unmold the salad before serving.
