Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix (white or yellow)
  • 1 can crushed pineapple
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 stick margarine

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a 13 x 9-inch cake pan, pour the crushed pineapple and juice, spreading evenly.
  3. Spread the cherry pie filling over the pineapple layer.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the fruit layers.
  5. Slice the margarine into small pieces and distribute over the dry mix.
  6. Optional: add walnuts or pecans on top of the margarine slices.
  7. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm or chilled.
