Salmon Mousse(Delicious!)
Creamy salmon mousse with fresh dill, lemon, and a hint of Tabasco offers a delicate appetizer perfect for special occasions or elegant gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 cup cold water ⓘ
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup Miracle Whip ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon finely grated onion ⓘ
- dash Tabasco ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped dill ⓘ
- 2 cups finely flaked poached fresh salmon or canned salmon, skin and bones removed ⓘ
Instructions
- Soften gelatin in cold water.
- In a large mixing bowl, stir in the boiling water and whisk the mixture until gelatin dissolves. Cool to room temperature.
- Whisk in the Miracle Whip, lemon juice, finely grated onion, Tabasco, paprika, salt, and chopped dill.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken slightly.
- Fold in the flaked salmon.
- Whip the cream and gently fold into the mixture.
- Put in a 6 to 8 cup bowl or mold; cover and chill at least 4 hours.
- Serve with crackers, toast, or black bread. Can be served as a main course, garnished with watercress.
