Ingredients

  • 2 lb. shortribs
  • 4 to 5 green onions
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seed
  • 6 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Score the ribs on both sides about 1/3 of the way down without cutting all the way through.
  2. Place the ribs in a heavy kettle.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the soy sauce.
  4. Pour enough water into the kettle to cover the ribs by three-quarters.
  5. Add chopped green onions to the kettle.
  6. Toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet until golden brown, then add to the ribs.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat to simmer.
  8. Cover and cook the ribs for 2 hours until tender.
  9. Serve the shortribs with cooked rice.
