Ingredients

  • 1 lb. regular or hot sausage
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 whole garlic clove, minced
  • 4 cups canned tomatoes
  • 1/2 small can tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package Italian spaghetti sauce mix
  • 1 lb. creamed cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 oz. can Parmesan and Romano cheese
  • 8 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 8 oz. lasagne

Instructions

  1. Break sausage into small pieces and brown slowly in a large iron pan.
  2. Remove sausage and drain, except for 4 tablespoons of drippings.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; simmer until tender.
  4. Return sausage to the pan; blend in canned tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and spaghetti sauce mix.
  5. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
