Sausage-Lasagne

Ingredients
- 1 lb. regular or hot sausage ⓘ
- 3/4 cup chopped onion ⓘ
- 1 whole garlic clove, minced ⓘ
- 4 cups canned tomatoes ⓘ
- 1/2 small can tomato paste ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons sugar ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1 package Italian spaghetti sauce mix ⓘ
- 1 lb. creamed cottage cheese ⓘ
- 2 eggs ⓘ
- 8 oz. can Parmesan and Romano cheese ⓘ
- 8 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese ⓘ
- 8 oz. lasagne ⓘ
Instructions
- Break sausage into small pieces and brown slowly in a large iron pan.
- Remove sausage and drain, except for 4 tablespoons of drippings.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic; simmer until tender.
- Return sausage to the pan; blend in canned tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and spaghetti sauce mix.
- Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
