Sausage Puffs are savory, flaky rolls filled with spicy sausage and creamy cheese, perfect as appetizers or quick snacks for gatherings and family meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 2 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese
  • 1 lb. hot sausage
  • 1 egg
  • Poppy seed

Instructions

  1. Brown and drain the hot sausage.
  2. Mix the cooked sausage with softened cream cheese.
  3. Unroll the crescent rolls into rectangles.
  4. Place the sausage and cream cheese mixture down the middle of each rectangle.
  5. Roll the dough back up to enclose the filling.
  6. Refrigerate the rolled pastries until firm.
  7. Slice into 1-inch pieces.
  8. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with poppy seed.
  9. Bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
