Sausage Spoon Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 8 oz. can cream-style corn
  • 1/2 lb. bulk pork sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients.
  2. Stir in corn, sausage, egg and oil.
  3. Turn into greased 1-quart glass baking dish.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°.
  5. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese, grated.
  6. Bake 5 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Yields 4 servings.
