Ingredients

  • 1 fryer chicken or 6 to 8 chicken breasts
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 cup evaporated can milk
  • 1 cup water
  • self-rising flour

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken and pat dry if desired.
  2. In a bowl, sprinkle the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Roll the chicken in self-rising flour until coated.
  4. Place the chicken in a 9 x 13-inch foil-lined baking pan that has been buttered.
  5. Put small pats of margarine on the chicken pieces.
  6. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes without foil on top.
  7. Mix the water and evaporated milk together and pour over the chicken.
  8. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the chicken is done.
