Ingredients

  • 4 slices white bread
  • 2 cups homogenized milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 1/2 cup half and half cream
  • 1/4 cup dried milk powder

Instructions

  1. Mix the homogenized milk and half and half cream in a pan.
  2. Add cardamom and a few drops of food coloring; bring to a boil and simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes.
  3. Add sugar and continue cooking until dissolved.
  4. Fry one slice of bread in deep oil until golden brown.
  5. Dip the fried bread slice in warm milk and remove before it becomes too soft.
  6. Place the dipped bread slices on a flat dish. Repeat the process for all slices.
  7. Arrange the slices side by side on the dish and pour leftover milk over them.
  8. Sprinkle dried milk powder over the slices.
  9. Cool in the fridge before serving.
