Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 eggs
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine the cake mix, brown sugar, oil, water, and eggs; mix until well blended.
  2. Spread the batter evenly in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and shake the pan gently to settle the batter.
  5. Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and shake the pan again.
  7. Bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and shake once more.
  9. Bake for a final 5 minutes.
  10. Cool completely, then cut into squares.
  11. Optional: sprinkle with powdered sugar when cooled.
