- Scald the sweet milk and gradually add the cornmeal, stirring continuously.
- Cook until the mixture becomes thick, then pour a small amount over the beaten egg yolks.
- Return the mixture to the heat and cook for a few minutes longer.
- Add butter and fold in the beaten egg whites. Then add baking powder and salt.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1 1/2 hours.
- Stir once after the first 15 minutes of baking.
